Overview
To participate in Texas Bird Squares you should (see links below for detailed steps)
- Identify a chapter to work with and if they are not already participating work with them to sign up.
- Pick a square (10km by 10km, 6.6 mile by 6.6 mile) from National Audubon’s grid for Climate Watch. You will bird 12 points within the grid with a stationary count lasting 5 minutes per point.
- Pick the 12 points within the square.
- Bird the 12 points using the appropriate protocol during the season(s) you picked.
- Report the resulting 12 checklists to eBird and Climate Watch Portal (both required)
- Send the ebird checklist ids to AFT () and your chapter coordinator.
In subsequent seasons you can use the same square and skip steps 1-3.
