- Making the avian community aware of the opportunity to measure the health of the environment
- Encouraging birders and Audubon Chapters to use the resource of Cornell Labs eBird and Audubon National’s Climate Watch tools to provide a database containing bird sightings using a common methodology and protocol across the state of Texas
- Supplementing that database with information on birder and chapter participation to monitor progress in covering every square of Texas
- Providing resources (funding) for chapter participation
