Supporting Nature in The Local Community
Supporting the local communities in coordination with Audubon Texas is the major objective of the foundation. Funding is provided to Audubon Texas to address state-wide and ecoregions priorities but the majority of our funds support the priorities of the local communities in which the funds were raised. This is accomplished by distributions to the respective local Audubon chapters. To give an opportunity for any of the Texas local chapters to fund activities and projects at the chapter and individual member level, each year we sponsor collaborative grants. The grants are given in coordination with a similar program through Audubon Texas. Grants support conservation projects (defined broadly to include education, citizen science, policy, habitat restoration) and provide an opportunity to engage chapter members and the public, in Audubon's mission.
